The Smithsonian Museum

Using the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s pioneering collection of Latino art as its point of departure, this Volume explores how Latino artists shaped the artistic movements of their day and recalibrated key themes in American art and culture. Selections from the Museum’s wide-ranging holdings include works by artists of Mexican, Puerto Rican, and Dominican descent, as well as other diaspora Latin American groups with deep roots in the United States.
